Sigmetrix is an engineering software and services provider with world-leading expertise in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and mechanical variation. Its flagship product, CETOL 6σ, is tolerance analysis software that gives product development teams the insight required to confidently release designs to manufacturing. Through precise calculation of surface sensitivities, the software identifies those dimensions in a product assembly that are critical to quality. Using advanced mathematical techniques and algorithms, CETOL 6σ accelerates optimization to achieve robust designs ready for manufacturing. Now Sigmetrix is expanding its software product portfolio with EZtol, a new 1D software solution designed to let designers and engineers quickly understand the impact of part and assembly variation on fit and performance of their product designs. EZtol user interface.
1D tolerance analysis application aimed at engineers currently using often unrevealing hand or spreadsheet calculations Why introduce a 1D analysis application when CETOL 6σ is a more robust tool, capable of predicting the impact of complex 3D interactions that occur in production? Because, Sigmetrix explains, engineers often use hand calculations or spreadsheets to conduct tolerance stackup analyses, but unless they are specifically considering complex interactions such as rotation of surfaces, those manual calculations may fail to fully account for all the variation that can occur in the design’s critical functional requirements. EZtol not only performs those 1D stackup analyses far more efficiently than manual methods, but can also detect many scenarios where 1D treatment may be insufficient.
When such scenarios are identified, a caution symbol appears on the software’s results row, as well as a note that warns the calculated 1D results may underestimate the actual variation that the design will undergo during production. Users can then decide whether or not to use a more advanced tool such as CETOL 6σ to get a better understanding of how the design will actually behave. No other solution available today combines EZtol’s ease of use with visual indication of the limitations of 1D treatment of the tolerance stackup, according to Sigmetrix. “We are delighted to be able to expand our software offerings to include EZtol” said Sigmetrix president and CEO Chris Wilkes.
“We are recognized globally for providing tolerance analysis and GD&T software solutions as well as industry-leading training and consulting services, and this really rounds out our product portfolio. EZtol really bridges the gap between manual tolerance stackups and an advanced tool like CETOL 6σ quite nicely.” Key capabilities EZtol has been designed to make it easier to create, manage and report upon multiple 1D tolerance analyses in an assembly. It works with files from most major CAD systems, without having to utilize a CAD license to work with those models. More capabilities:. Builds the analysis on top of the 3D design model:.
Uses the actual nominal distances between surfaces/features from the design. Helps to ensure all components in the loop are included. Shows the optimum dimensioning scheme for the single analysis.
Automatically calculates the worst-case, RSS and statistical results of the analysis. Metrics for statistical results can be reported as Cpk, Sigma, DPMO or% Yield. Lists of contributors sorted from largest to smallest. Defines multiple tolerance stackup analyses on the same model.
Provides a summary table showing the objectives and results of each stackup analysis along with a visual indication of whether the requirement has been met. Stores the dimensions, with tolerances, defined for each part so that the user doesn’t have to re-enter them for each loop. This also allows automatic updating of all analyses when a user modifies a tolerance used in multiple analyses. Generates a detailed report with graphical view of the dimension loop over the models involved, and a graphical presentation of results and the top contributors.
Provides an indication that the tolerance stackup may not be 1D in nature, including a note that the results provided may underestimate the actual variation that will occur during production. EZtol will be released May 1, 2017, and will be available as a monthly or annual subscription. Prospective users can download a free early preview now to review and provide feedback.

Sigmetrix has released CETOL v8.3.2. This is a maintenance release that resolves the following issues: Issues resolved common to all CAD environments. In some situations the sensitivities of reference dimensions for driven dimensions were not being calculated correctly. The appearance of a ball in cone joint was incorrect when using Visualize Sensitivities. In some situations the negative sign in front of lower-limit values of measurements wasn’t being displayed on the statistical results plot of generated reports.
Issues resolved specific to CREO in CETOL v8.3.2. The “Write to Pro/E” function had inconsistent results and in some cases would cause a CETOL application crash. Issues resolved specific to SolidWorks in CETOL v8.3.2. CETOL would not recognize different part configurations used in the analysis. Some DimExpert dimensions imported into or linked with CETOL at the part level would cause unexpected data changes when CETOL was resynchronized to the assembly. Issues resolved specific to CATIA in CETOL v8.3.2. Units for tolerances would not match the units of the part when using CATIA V5R22.

Cetol Marine Natural Teak has a rich golden color that will enhance the natural beauty and grain of wood, offering the traditional classic look that every boat owner loves. Cetol Marine Natural Teak is formulated with the same ease of application and maintenance that all Cetol Marine products are known for but with 'Next Wave' UV-absorbing technology, which is a formulation of specialty resins and advanced UV absorbers that provide greater protection, durability and longevity.
'Next Wave' Technology Next Wave Technology is the next generation of Cetol Marine from Sikkens with a unique UV-absorbing package, which is a formulation of specialty resins and advanced UV absorbers that provide greater protection, durability and longevity. This unique UV-absorbing package acts like a sunscreen to protect wood by deflecting the damaging effects of the sun's UV rays. Cetol Marine Natural Teak is the first offering from Sikkens to include this 'Next Wave' technology. Other Cetol Marine products: Cetol Marine Light, Cetol Marine Gloss, and original Cetol Marine.
I have an outdoor Redwood bench that originally had Cetol Window & Door finish on it. It looked nice initially but the bench is in full sunlight and the finish blistered and peeled over a couple years. I've sanded off the original finish and would like to refinish it with something more durable. Would the Cetol Marine Natural Teak be a good finish for a Redwood bench?
Or is there another product you would recommend? Rik Frost 2017-01-04 I don't know about the window and door finish but we used the Marine Natural Teak to finish some new teak furniture that lives outside.
It has been three years and they still look like new. 2017-01-04 PETER WRIGHT Yes but make sure you do 2 to 3 coats. 2017-01-13 ROBIN ARNER I only have experience using Cetol Natural Teak on wooden boats but I have used it for years. A couple suggestions. If the wood is stripped bare, first coat it with Smith's Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer then follow up with at least two coats of Sikkens.
If the chair sits in the sun all summer you will want to re-coat every year with one or two applications. Provided you keep that up annually you shouldn't need to take it down to bare wood again. Natural Teak is a great product!
Good luck 2017-01-04 LEE NEWCOMBE I have used the Cetol on teak on my boat and it works very very well. Redwood is a softer wood but the Cetol should still do well on it. Just make sure all the weathered wood surface has been removed. 2017-01-04 ROGER SCRIVEN I have 5 coats of cetol on my new teak floor( done 2 seasons ago, I currently wash with 25% vinegar and water, its still looking new when should I recoat to keep it looking that way? Larry tarr 2016-06-25 When it doesn't look goiod anymore. 2016-06-25 TIMOTHY COX The outside teak on my Sea Ray is going into it's 3rd year after coating the teak with Sikkens (probably for the first time in it's 32 years).
It has faded and worn. What do I need to consider in recoating it? James Watson 2016-04-26 Use a scotch pad and double wipe with interlux 216 thinner. Consider top coating with 2 coat of 'cetol marine' or 'cetol marine gloss' as the 'cetol marine teak' has NO UV protection. 2016-04-26 ROBERT GILLEN You don't need to sand it because it naturally dissipates but I always liked to do so anyway because it gives a cleaner look. If you choose not to sand then make sure you at least clean it off properly and be sure to get rid of any bubbles. Other than that the Sikkens always held up really well for me.
Hope this helps! Captain Ezra 2016-04-26 EZRA KUSKIN If Sikkens is already on it and there are some worn spots lightly sand and if the teak is clean apply the same Sikkens product. Don't apply Natural over the original Sikkens.
The colors are different. However some apply several coats of gloss over their work when they refinish. If the teak is in total need of recoating remove the remaining Sikkens. Scrapers work as well as sanding. Once the teak is cleaned you may need to sand or use a brightner to clean dark spots.
I sanded flaking varnish then applied Natural on my Grand Banks. 6 coats on the hand rails, eyebrows, and fly bridge wheel.
1 coat every 24 hours. This year it's the fly bridge then the door and windows. Keep some in a a plastic bottle like a ketchup bottle.
When you see a nick or some pops off just sand the area and brush on a few coats. 2016-04-26 FRANK SARCONE Is this considered a varnish? Not clear from the multiple reviews. ELY RYDER 2015-12-11 Yes it is a varnish, but from high quality and more prizy, but for teakwood like outdoor furniture or teakwood on boats; porch area etc even docks on water the best way to tread, For more ask again and probaly I can answer youSuccess Paul van Beek Handy Craftman 2016-01-22 PAULUS VAN BEEK Its a clear coat, just like shellac, varnish, polyurethane, etc.
It has a finite lifetime outdoors just like all clear coats. Hope that helps. 2015-12-12 LAWRENCE SMITH Sikkens Cetol Marine Natural Tea is not a varnish. It's more of an oil, softer than a varnish. 2015-12-11 GEOFFREY EDMANDS Not a varnish - the Cetol Natural Teak is an penetrating oil type fishing with a bit of hardener but it is relatively soft.
The clear coat on top of there Natural track gives it a varnish like look but much easier to repair and tour up. I put on 3 coats of Natural Teak and 2 of car on top.
It looks as good or better than varnish. Every year I 3M pad the top service and put on another coat of clear. Look brand new each year and looks goo all through the year. What weathers is the top most clear coat - the underlying clear coats and the original 3 coast of Natural Teak are never touched. If you do get water penetration at a seam or gap in your teak, Cetol is very easy to refinish and blend in with the surrounding area. I have used Cetol of 20 years and swear by it. Spend a fraction of the time than I did with varnish.
The old Cetol was a bit orange and darker over time - the Natural Teak looks great, does not darken if you have the clear coats covering. 2015-12-11 BRUCE HAULMAN can I use cetol over an oil stain on wood? Steve Kroninger 2015-10-17 SURE AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW THE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CAN. 2015-10-17 ROBERT GILLEN I don't know. I used it on bare wood and it has done a great job. 2015-10-17 MARK TRACY If you are happy with the color of the wood and it hasn't been oiled too recently, the Cetol should work OK.
The Cetol natural teak has very little color to it and shouldn't change the color of your teak. 2015-10-17 PAT CLARKE I would not - take the wood down to clear and then build up 3 coats of Natural Teak and at least 2 coats of clear - you will be amazed.
You can use Cetol over an oil stain, because it is a penetrating poil based product, but the old oil will darken it and I doubt if you will be happy with the results 2015-12-11 BRUCE HAULMAN I used this product several years ago on my teak furniture and then did a second coat with Cetol Marine overcoat. I want to re-treat the finish.do I need to use both products or just the overcoat? Rob Kohn 2015-10-12 Just overcoat unless the edges are weathered.
Then you need to sand touch up w/ teak than overcoat. 2015-10-17 ROBERT GILLEN Just 2015-10-13 LAWRENCE SMITH Just using the overcoat is fine if there is still a good base layer left. If you're down to bare wood, I recommend stripping and using the original base first.
2015-10-13 LAWRENCE SMITH You just need the clear coat unless the undercoats have been compromised - the secret is to each year do a clear coat - that takes all the water and tear and the original coats stay looking new - a good cleaning and then a light scuffing with a 3M pad, and another clear coat will make your teak look like new 2015-10-12 BRUCE HAULMAN how will weak sunlight directly on a cool surface affect application? Duncan Stewart 2015-10-04 The ship is at the dock. But stern to south, and it warms up nicely. I have a large black plastic tarp that covers the whole thing. My only concern was if somehow the suns rays prevented proper molecular drying. The temp is fine, before sundown, with the suns rays weak.
The coat second has dried very nicely. Will put a third coat on and then block before the final coat and then gloss. 2015-10-05 Duncan Stewart will send a picture of two coats on the transom 2015-10-05 Duncan Stewart sre you saying you applied it in direct sunlight and it did not affect its results or performance? 2015-10-05 Duncan Stewart In my experience with this product it should not affect applying it at all. Denon avr 900 service manual.
I used this product to finish a cedar grill table that I built for my ceramic grill/smoker. It has been out in the elements for 4 years now and the it is just starting to show the wear. 2015-10-05 MARK MOONEY Yes, in the fall, when the sun angle was weaker and it was cool. 2015-10-05 MARK MOONEY I have used the product several times but did the application work indoors.
As long as the surface is not excessively hot I don't think you will have a problem. It always looks pretty uneven when it starts to dry but then it mellows out once it dries. Keep it stirred, do a good job of cleaning and prep, and I think you will like it. Very easy product to use and seems to hold up pretty well with minimum maintenance.
2015-10-05 DENNIS NESS Depending on how cool. If it is too cold the varnish will not dry and hardened fast enough. There are instruction on the can which tell you in which temperatures you can apply and which not. Too cold is never good. Plan a time where it is warm enough. If possible you can apply varnish on parts if you can place it in a green house, where its normaly higher when sun is shining. If see take care for good ventilation as well.
I did apply varnish on parts in winter time in my basement, where it was warm enough, but with ventilation. Also if you are using ventilation be carefull about dust. Apply it in a clean area.
If florr are dusty you can apply water on it to keep dust away (Slighly) I hope it will help. Last if it is a boat outside you can cover it with a tent and make higher temperatures. 2015-10-05 PAULUS VAN BEEK If it makes the wood warm or hot, wait until it is cooler, or 'room temp'. Its also best if the entire piece is the same temp, ie. Not having hot and cold spots. 2015-10-13 LAWRENCE SMITH how to clean brushes?
Undisclosed 2015-06-04 I use Foam Brushes with this product, so generally, I have no clean-up. I have used Mineral Spirits or Naptha to clean up the brushes, works well. 2015-06-04 CALLAN CAMPBELL I used mineral spirits to keep the brushes soft between coats and it could be used to clean brushes, but once you've used a brush in this product, you probably wouldn't use it for anything else.
Cetol Software Free Download
2015-06-04 WEST JOHNSON I use mineral spirits to clean, and then soap and water to clean the minearl spirits out of the brush. 2015-06-04 BRUCE WOODRY I used disposable foam 'brushes'. 2015-06-04 RICHARD GREENWAY Paint thinner or acetone works well 2015-06-07 STEVEN BEZRUTCH just applied 5 coats and having water spoting any one have an answer on how to remove water spots? Larry tarr 2015-05-17 I applied 2 coats and then three coats of clear - looks great 1 year later - better than varnish - 2015-05-18 BRUCE HAULMAN I applied 6 coats over 6 days. I had light rain one evening before the coat set. The next morning there were water spots on the railings.
Cetol Software Free Download For Windows 7
I took a microfiber rag to the spots and some spots disappeared. I then took very fine sandpaper, 600 grit I think, to the railing, tack rag the residue and applied another coat. Spots disappeared.I think I put 2 more coats over the coat that was water spotted. 2015-05-19 FRANK SARCONE It usually takes me several weeks to apply 3-5 coats. After being away from the boat for a week, I usually take a soft rag slightly dampened with acetone to clean the coating before taping and applying a fresh coat. 2015-05-17 KEITH DIETEL If you put on 5 coats and you're getting water spotting, I'm thinking you didn't apply the Cetol properly, or you didn't wait long enough for it to cure before getting it wet.
I have never had a water spot problem with Cetol. I would suggest a light buffing with 000 steel wool followed by a light overcoat of Cetol then wait 24 to 48 hrs before getting wet, longer if the temp or humidity isn't within specs. Ordinarily, any spotting should be able to be wiped off if the Cetol is properly applied. 2015-05-18 LAWRENCE SMITH has anyone used this on teak and holly floorin? Undisclosed 2015-05-16 No 2015-05-19 FRANK SARCONE. 3 I used this on the outside of both a front and back door.
These were new AAW Rustic doors. AAW will not name the variety of wood but it is a very dense hard tropical hardwood. Almost white in color. I used Teak colored Cetol. The color doesn't look anything like Teak. It's very dark, closer to walnut. It's supposed to be translucent, and it is, just barely.
You have to look close to see the original wood grain. It's closer to a paint than a stain. The brush marks in the Cetol are much more prominent than the wood grain. The overall appearance when done is OK. Not anywhere near as attractive as a varnished door. If this stuff lasts 6-8 years I'll be satisfied. But when it does come time to refinish I'll probably go with a marine varnish.
Dick Houston, TX 2016-02-16 No Cetol Marine Natural Teak. 5 Product worked very well on very some worn teak from a 1980 Whaler Montauk. Sanded down to 220 grit first and wiped clean with denatured alcohol. I used to own a wood sailboat and have done a tone of varnishing but did not want to use varnish on the teak louvered doors. Looks like varnish and no orange color that older Cetol products apparently had.
Best thing about product was advice I got from Jamestown Distributors help line! Steve usedtovarnish Rattlesnake Island NH 2016-01-13 Yes Restore Rocker.
